About This Site

This site is an independent guide to router and modem problems. We explain what the lights on your equipment mean and give step-by-step fixes for the problems people run into most: blinking lights, dropped WiFi, resets, passwords and setup.

Who we are

We are an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Spectrum, Xfinity, Comcast, AT&T, Cox, Optimum, Frontier, Verizon, CenturyLink or any other internet provider or equipment maker. Provider and product names are used only to identify the equipment our guides cover.

How we write our guides

We start with the provider's own published guidance when it exists, then organize it into steps in the order that solves the most problems fastest. We tell you which steps are safe and which erase your settings, and we say when the light patterns can vary by model. When a fix depends on your account, we tell you to check it on your own account instead of guessing.

What we do not do

We do not run a support line, we do not ask for your account details or passwords, and we do not list unofficial phone numbers for providers. If you need your provider, use the app, the website or the number on your bill.

Corrections

Equipment and policies change. If you find something that is out of date or wrong, please tell us through the contact page and we will review it.
